Germanic

Germanic tribes inhabited the vast areas of north and central Europe and included the Angles, Saxons, Frisians, and Scandinavians amongst other peoples. “Germanic” is a branch of the Indo-European language family which includes German, English, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish. (Languages derived from Latin, such as French, Spanish, and Italian, are known as Romance languages.)
