Medieval Week 2027 Saga Tour: Arrival Friday August 6th. Departure Friday August 13th
The focus of the week is Gotland’s Medeltidsveckan – Medieval Week – Scandinavia’s oldest and largest Medieval Festival, set in the enchanting UNESCO World Heritage town of Visby. We’ll have the beloved Hotell S:t Clemens as our base from which to explore the beautiful, safe, and friendly medieval town of Visby, and soak up the atmosphere of thousands of costumed performers, vendors, and visitors. In addition I have planned some very special experiences with you in the countryside, including an immersive activity day at Stavgard Viking Era educational centre where we’ll be surrounded by 1000 years of Gotland history. Classic Saga Tour 2027: Arrival Friday August 20st. Departure Sunday August 29th
If you love The Circle of Ceridwen Saga books, or just want to experience this magical island and all its history, beauty, and variety, this 9 night Tour is for you. We’ll have the entire Hotell S:t Clemens here in Visby to ourselves, and from there we will enjoy three motor coach excursions taking us north, east, and south. We’ll view Bronze Age and Iron Age monuments and landscapes Ceridwen and Sidroc would have known – including the site of Tyrsborg, marvel at the intimate beauty of the Medieval churches Gotland is renowned for, explore a historic fishing village, and visit a sheep farm to meet some authentic Gotland “lamm”. If you joined me on either of the 2023 Saga Tours, you know what beauty awaits, and with many new surprises for 2026. Medieval Week 2025 Saga Tour: Friday August 1st to Friday August 8th
Ready yourselves for an unforgettable week of pageantry here on my adopted home of Gotland! We will experience the renowned spectacle of Medeltidsveckan – Medieval Week 2025, along with some very special and exclusive experiences just for Saga Tour guests. A more appropriate setting for our adventure could not be found than the beautiful, safe, and friendly medieval town of Visby, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
